BUSINESS WOMEN FORUM SIGNS ON FOR SMART-BEE

On Thursday, December 22, 2022, Business Women Forum (BWF) joined the SMART Project’s efforts to eliminate the policy and institutional constraints to competitiveness and trade. The institutional capacity building and policy program, also known as SMART-BEE, is a recently announced initiative of the USAID-funded project that aims to remove the BEE barriers that have long prevented the growth of Palestinian SMEs and start-ups.  Through institutional capacity building, the program aims to improve service delivery to member companies and other stakeholders while also empowering them to take the lead on policy reform initiatives.

With the help of SMART, BWF will be able to increase their strategic communications capability in order to better serve their members and spread their message via high-profile events and media productions. Additionally, it will aid BWF's initiatives to advocate legislative choices that enhance the favorable business environment for women.

The Small and Medium Enterprise Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Project is a Four-Year USAID-funded activity implemented by DAI Global. SMART provides rapid recovery and sustainable revitalization of the Palestinian private sector following the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis and other economic shocks. The Project aims to rapidly respond to severe losses of the Palestinian private sector and help jumpstart the competitiveness of firms with potential to increase market share and employment opportunities. SMART will help the Palestinian private sector regain economic productivity and build a future of sustainable growth and expansion. Ultimately, SMART will promote economic growth and self-reliance in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza (WBG).
